Requirements for this position:
- Minimum 1 year previous experience in 12-steps. ***A strong recovery program with references from a sponsor will be considered.
- Current Peer Support Certification (preferred), we can get you certified if you do not already possess the certification.
- Must have valid drivers license.
- Level 1 AZ Fingerprint Clearance card (A Plus)
- Willingness to work hard and help others.

We have an opportunity for our Medication Technician position. We offer a full benefits package which includes EMPLOYEE PAID primary care medical coverage for our employees who work a minimum of 20 hours per week (NO cost to the employee).
The Medication Technician organizes medications for clients and assists the client in administering their medications. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, organization, and enthusiasm. We’re looking for someone who is committed and dedicated as well.

This is a family-style work environment: The administrative staff, residential personnel, clinicians and medical personnel all meet and communicate regularly about each and every client’s treatment plan so we may provide the most comprehensive rehabilitation experience (from admission to graduation) possible for our clients.

We offer our interns a considerable amount of hands-on experience and training. Interns will be allowed to run group workshops on substance abuse, conduct weekly one-on-one therapy sessions, and updating client files/administrative paperwork, among other things.
Unlike many local locations, our interns are PAID, FULL-TIME positions. When possible we hire interns after they complete their internships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Intake & scheduling:
Complete medical intake documentation for admitting patients (history, demographics, vitals)
- Schedule and maintain ongoing appointments with primary care and psychiatry.
- Coordinate labs and TB testing per GMBH admissions/screening protocol.
Referrals & testing orders:
Manage medical referrals and testing orders from initiation through completion.
- Follow up on outstanding referral requests and track to resolution.
- Review lab results in the EHR and route to the ordering provider per protocol; flag/escalate abnormal or critical results per provider-defined thresholds
Care coordination:
Coordinate care with outside agencies (specialists, hospitals, community providers).
- Monitor and coordinate follow-up for urgent care visits, ER visits, and hospitalizations — ensure discharge instructions and records are obtained and routed to the care team.
- Coordinate daily with the provider team on patient status and follow-up items.
- Interface across all departments (nursing, clinical, admissions) to ensure continuity of care.
- Respond to patient medical requests; triage and schedule per documented protocol, escalating urgent/emergent requests to clinical staff immediately.
Medication & pharmacy support:
Interface with pharmacy on prescriptions and coordinate medication deliveries.
- Assist clients with self-administration of prescribed medications per GMBH’s assisted self-administration model
- Support medication counts and controlled substance logging
Case management functions
Coordinate care across the client’s treatment team consistent with the member’s treatment/service plan
- Maintain clinical documentation within the EHR
Services to be Performed:
- Administer physician-ordered injectable medications for mental health and substance use disorder treatment (e.g., long-acting injectable antipsychotics, injectable MAT such as naltrexone/buprenorphine formulations), within scope
- Monitor and record vital signs, including pre/post-injection monitoring per medication labeling (e.g., post-injection observation for medications with PIS risk); report changes in patient condition to the supervising provider.
- Provide patient/family education on health management and disease prevention.
- Document all encounters in Electronic Health Record.
- Comply with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2
Time for Performance:
- Estimated 1-4 hours per month: PRN

- For LPNs: Practices under named supervising physician, available during all clinic hours.
